Arsenal beat Manchester City 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time to win the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

The Gunners were trailing 1-0 to a Cole Palmer goal in the 79th minute, but Leandro Trossard equalized in the 101st minute with a deflected shot.
The match went to penalties after neither side could score a winner in extra time, and Arsenal converted all four of their spot kicks, while Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri missed for City.

It was Arsenal’s first Community Shield win since 2017, and it gave them a morale-boosting victory ahead of the start of the new Premier League season.
