Bryson DeChambeau Shoots 58 to Win LIV Golf’s First Major

Bryson DeChambeau made history on Sunday, shooting a 58 to win the LIV Golf Greenbrier. The 12-under round was the lowest in LIV Golf history, and just the fourth time a player has shot 58 on a major tour.

DeChambeau started the day tied for second, four strokes behind leader Mito Pereira. But he quickly took control of the tournament, making birdies on his first four holes. He continued to play well throughout the round, making eight more birdies and no bogeys.

DeChambeau’s 58 was even more impressive considering the conditions. The course was wet and soggy from rain overnight, making it difficult to score. But DeChambeau was able to take advantage of the soft greens, hitting his approach shots close to the hole all day.

He capped off his round with a 35-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole. As the putt dropped, DeChambeau leaped into the air with joy, celebrating his first LIV Golf victory.

“It’s just an amazing feeling,” DeChambeau said after the round. “I’ve been working so hard for this, and it’s finally paid off.”

DeChambeau’s win is a major boost for LIV Golf. The Saudi-backed league has been criticized for its lack of star power, but DeChambeau’s arrival has helped to legitimize the tour.

DeChambeau is one of the most popular golfers in the world, and his victory is sure to attract more fans to LIV Golf. The league is now well-positioned to compete with the PGA Tour, and DeChambeau’s win is a major step in that direction.
