The alert was issued Saturday night after police in Becker, Minnesota, responded to a domestic assault call. When they arrived, they found a woman who had been assaulted and learned that her 2-year-old son had been abducted by her ex-husband, 41-year-old Scott Henrikson.

Police issued the Amber Alert and began searching for Henrikson and the boy. They later learned that Henrikson had driven to the town of Baxter, about 80 miles northwest of Becker.
Officers from the Baxter Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol converged on Baxter and set up a perimeter around Henrikson’s location. They began negotiating with him, and after several hours, he surrendered.

The boy was found safe and unharmed. Henrikson was arrested and is facing charges of kidnapping, domestic assault, and violating an order for protection
