Dianne Feinstein Hospitalized After Fall, But Expected to Make Full Recovery

Feinstein, 90, tripped over a chair in her kitchen and fell to the ground, according to her spokesperson, Adam Russell. She was taken to the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center as a precaution.

Russell said Feinstein did not suffer any serious injuries and was released from the hospital a few hours later. She is now resting at home and is expected to make a full recovery.

This is the latest in a string of health issues for Feinstein. In February, she was hospitalized for shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella-zoster virus. She also experienced vision and balance problems as a complication of the illness.

Feinstein’s health has been a source of concern for some Democrats, who have called for her to retire. However, she has said that she plans to continue serving in the Senate.

In a statement, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said he was “glad” that Feinstein was doing well after her fall. “She is a vital member of our Democratic caucus and I am grateful for her service,” Schumer said.

Feinstein is the oldest sitting member of the United States Senate. She has served in the Senate since 1992.
