According to court documents, a deputy with the Carver County Sheriff’s Office pulled Griffen over after witnessing his vehicle driving erratically on Powers Boulevard in Chanhassen. The deputy said that Griffen’s vehicle was weaving in and out of traffic and nearly collided with another vehicle.

The deputy activated his emergency lights and sirens, but Griffen did not pull over immediately. Instead, he continued driving at a high rate of speed. The deputy eventually caught up to Griffen and pulled him over.
When the deputy spoke to Griffen, he smelled alcohol on his breath. Griffen also performed poorly on a field sobriety test. He was arrested and taken to the Carver County Jail.
Griffen was charged with fourth-degree DWI, which is a misdemeanor. He was released from jail after posting bail.

This is not the first time that Griffen has been arrested for driving under the influence. In 2018, he was arrested and charged with third-degree DWI. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to probation.
Griffen has also been open about his struggles with mental health. In 2018, he was hospitalized after a mental health episode. He has since spoken out about his experiences in the hopes of helping others who are struggling.
It is unclear what the impact of this latest arrest will be on Griffen’s career. He is currently a free agent and has not signed with a team for the 2023 season.
