In a statement on Twitter, Skelton said: “I’ve had an amazing time at Radio 5 Live, but the juggle is real and I need to put my family first. I’m so grateful for the opportunity and for all the support I’ve received.”
Skelton is a mother of three children, aged eight, six and one. She is also a former Blue Peter presenter and has appeared in a number of other TV shows, including Strictly Come Dancing.

In her final show on Sunday, Skelton said that she was “not all right about it” leaving Radio 5 Live, but that she knew it was the right decision.
She said: “I love this show, I love the team, I love the listeners, but I need to put my family first. The juggle is real and an eight-year-old with a sideline needs me.”

Skelton’s departure from Radio 5 Live is a blow to the station. She was a popular presenter and her show was one of the most listened-to on Sunday mornings.
