Corden, who played Smithy in the show, stepped down from his hosting gig on The Late Late Show in the US earlier this year to spend more time with his family. He and his wife, Julia Carey, have four children.

Lamb and Steadman appeared on Heart Radio’s Breakfast show on Monday, where they were asked about how the Gavin and Stacey cast keep in touch.

“We’ve got a WhatsApp group,” Steadman said. “We’re all in touch. We’re all very good friends.”

Lamb added that Corden had recently sent a message on the group chat.

“He’s back in touch,” he said. “He seems really happy and settled again.”

Steadman said that she had also been in touch with Melanie Walters, who played Gwen West on the show.

“Melanie bumped into Baby Neil the other day,” she said. “So we had a little catch-up.”

The cast of Gavin and Stacey have always been close, and they have reunited several times since the show ended in 2010. They released a Christmas special in 2019, and they have also appeared together at various events.

It is unclear if Corden will ever return to Gavin and Stacey, but his recent contact with the cast is a good sign. Fans of the show will be hoping that he will be involved in any future projects.
