Katharine McPhee and David Foster have canceled the final two shows of their Asia tour due to a “horrible tragedy” in their family.
The singer-actress, 39, announced the news on Instagram on Friday, writing that she and Foster “had a horrible tragedy in our family and at least one of us needs to get back home to our family.”
She did not specify what the tragedy was, but said that she was “so sorry” to her fans in Jakarta, Indonesia, where the two were scheduled to perform on Saturday and Sunday.
“Please know how much I wish to return one day and perform for you all,” she wrote.
Foster, 72, also posted about the cancellation on his own Instagram account, saying that he was “heartbroken” by the news.
“I want to thank all of our fans in Jakarta for their understanding,” he wrote. “We will be back soon.”
The couple’s announcement has sparked a wave of support from fans and friends, who have taken to social media to offer their condolences.
“I’m so sorry for your loss,” wrote one fan. “My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.”
“Sending you love and strength,” wrote another. “I hope you find peace during this time.”
It is unclear what the future holds for McPhee and Foster’s tour. However, it is clear that the couple is going through a very difficult time right now.
We offer our deepest condolences to McPhee, Foster, and their family during this time.thumb_upthumb_downtuneshareGoogle it
