Hodges’ win is a major breakthrough for the former college golfer at Florida Southern. He had never finished better than 12th in a PGA Tour event before this week.

“It’s been a long time coming,” Hodges said after the win. “I’ve been working hard for this for a long time, and it’s finally paid off.”

Hodges’ victory is a boost for his FedEx Cup chances. He moves up to 33rd in the standings, and he is now in contention to qualify for the playoffs.

“This is a big step in the right direction,” Hodges said. “I’m looking forward to building on this momentum and having a great rest of the season.”

Hodges’ win was also a major upset. He was the 148th-ranked player in the world coming into the tournament. However, he showed that he has the game to compete with the best in the world.

“I knew I could play with these guys,” Hodges said. “I just had to put it all together, and I was able to do that this week.”

Hodges’ victory is a reminder that anything is possible in golf. He is a late bloomer who has finally achieved his dream of winning on the PGA Tour.
