Mitch McConnell Should Step Down as Senate Minority Leader After Freezing, GOP Senator Says

Washington, D.C. – A Republican senator has called on Mitch McConnell to step down as Senate minority leader after the 81-year-old lawmaker froze mid-sentence during a press conference this week.

The senator, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that McConnell’s health scare has raised serious concerns about his ability to lead the Senate Republicans.

“He’s not the same person he was a few years ago,” the senator said. “He’s not as sharp, and he’s not as quick. And that’s starting to show in his leadership.”

The senator also said that McConnell’s health scare has created a sense of uncertainty among Senate Republicans.

“People don’t know what to expect from him,” the senator said. “And that’s not good for the party.”

McConnell’s office has not commented on the senator’s call for him to step down.

However, the call comes at a time when McConnell is facing increasing pressure from within his own party.

Some Republicans have been critical of McConnell’s handling of the January 6th Capitol riot, and others have been unhappy with his willingness to work with Democrats on certain issues.

It is unclear whether McConnell will heed the call to step down. However, the senator’s health scare has undoubtedly raised questions about his future as Senate minority leader.
