“We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the couple said in a statement to Page Six. “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for the respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
Vergara and Manganiello met in 2014 at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner and were married the following year in a lavish ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida. They were one of Hollywood’s most visible couples, often appearing together on red carpets and in magazine spreads.
The couple’s split comes as a surprise to many, as they had always seemed to be very happy together. However, a source told ET that the pair had been “growing apart for a while now” and had been “living separate lives.”
