Trader Joe’s has recalled its Fully Cooked Falafel product due to the potential for rock contamination. The falafel was sold in stores in 34 states and Washington, D.C., and all potentially affected product has been removed from sale and destroyed.

Trader Joe’s announced the recall on Friday, July 28, 2023. The company said that it was made aware of the potential for rock contamination by its supplier. The falafel was sold in 12-ounce bags with a UPC code of 93935.
The recall affects falafel that was sold between July 11, 2023 and July 27, 2023. Customers who have purchased the recalled falafel are urged to discard it and return it to any Trader Joe’s location for a full refund.

Trader Joe’s said that it has not received any reports of injuries or illnesses related to the recalled falafel. However, the company is taking the recall seriously and is working with its supplier to investigate the matter.
