Xavi Hernandez Discusses Fermin Lopez, Ousmane Dembele, and El Clasico Thrashing

Dembele’s contract with Barcelona is set to expire at the end of the season, and there has been speculation that he could leave the club on a free transfer. However, Xavi has said that he is confident that Dembele will stay.

“I have spoken to Ousmane, and I am confident that he will stay,” Xavi said. “He is a very important player for us, and we want him to stay.”

Lopez, a 19-year-old midfielder, has been one of the standout performers for Barcelona in pre-season. He has impressed with his passing, dribbling, and work ethic.

“Fermin is a very talented player,” Xavi said. “He has a lot of potential, and I am excited to see him develop.”

Barcelona suffered a humiliating 6-0 defeat to Real Madrid in their recent El Clasico clash. It was their heaviest defeat in the fixture since 1943.

“We were not good enough in El Clasico,” Xavi said. “We made too many mistakes, and Real Madrid were better than us. We need to learn from this defeat and come back stronger.”
